- To smooth lines, use the product on the side of the cap of your foundation and apply directly on lines with a brush or sponge
- Make your brows look more dramatic by running a pink or white pencil under the arch.
- Lip Tricks
- Open your mouth when applying lipstick
- Use a nude, never a colored lipliner
- Create a fuller-looking mouth by putting a spot of lightweight concealer on the center for your lips after applying lipstick, then lightly blend it towards the corners
- Apply lip pencil along the Cupid's bow of your upper lip
- NEVER go over your natural lip line
- COLOR Tips for Lips:
- Light skin with rosy tones: stay in the range of soft pink shades
- Light skin with yellow undertones: choose coral and peach
- Medium skin with rosy tones: violet and grapes tones
- Medium colored skin with yellow undertones: red shades with blue hues
- Dark skin: red brown, coral tones
- Make eye shadow last all day by applying a little foundation on lids with a sponge or your fingers. Apply a little loose powder with a brush to create an even
- Roll hard pencil tips between your fingers to soften
- Bronzer Tips:
- Bronzer should never be more than two shades darker than the skin's natural color
- When using bronzer, always tone down make-up on the rest of the face
- Creams work best on dry skin while powder is best for oily or combination skin
- Only use bronzer on cheekbones, bones above the temples, and bridge of the nose to mimic a natural tan
- To minimize contrast, run the bronzer down the center of the neck into the cleavage.
- Be sure are using the right moisturizer for your skin type. If it is delivering too much moisture or not enough, your make-up will fade away quickly and needs retouching more often.
- When applying mascara, wiggle your mascara in the base of your lashes. It's the mascara placed near the roots – NOT THE TIPS – that gives the illusion of length.
- Ideal time for brow-shaping is the week after the period.
- If you are unhappy with the shape of your brows, do not tweeze them for 6-8 weeks, it takes time for the brow hair to grow back fully; then try again.
- If you overdo blushes, do not rub; apply a little pressed powder over the top to tone down the color.
- For tired looking face, use blusher to give your face an instant lift – sweep it high on the outer part of the cheeks, near to the eyes and up towards the temples.
- Women with oily skin should choose a blush that is a shade lighter than what they want to end up. This compensates for the darkening effects of oil on the blush's pigment.
- For every foundation finish, slightly moisten your fingers when applying your foundation. If you're using a sponge, dampen the sponge a little.
- When applying eye products, slightly tilt your head up when looking in the mirror.
- Chill the tip of your eye or lip pencil before application, especially in warmer weather for precision.
- Make-Up for the Eyes:
- For close-set eyes – line only the outer corners of the eye; never use a pencil or liner that is darker than your own eye color.
- For wide-set eyes – use a darker line on the inner corners of the eyes, then a slightly lighter liner on the outer corners.
- For bigger looking eyes – dab a small amount of beige eye shadow on the center of the eyelids. Apply on top of you regular eye shadow. Blend.
